1995 - 2005
After Journalism school I began my work in the 1990s working for a magazine publisher as the Photo Editor. I then left to pursue my first business, and this first portfolio highlights this business, operated from 1995-2005, in the waning days of film. I lived at the time in Portland, Oregon and Bainbridge Island, Washington. There I worked in a rental darkroom where professional photographers of every stripe gathered to create their work and collaborate. I loved being a part of this Portland artisan community and dying craft, documenting children in natural light in their own environments.
