MAINE HOME BEFORE & AFTER

I met Caroline fleetingly when she was in Colorado for college in 1983, but we reconnected when I then found my way coming east to her home and lived in Boston in 1989. Nearly thirty years later, Caroline and Ian left their homes where they raised their families and settled in this beautiful historic farmhouse on Barter’s Creek outside of Kittery Point, Maine. They lived in it for a few years, lovingly bidding farewell to all it had been, and then, they gave it new life. They took it down to the studs, then designed and added a new kitchen and recreated their forever home on this special, beautiful and peaceful property on a beautiful little Maine cove. They can walk to their post office, restaurants and their boat, and in the summertime they are in and out of their water daily swimming and playing with all their toys. Caroline, a gifted and generous therapist, also guides small and large groups on extensive journies and retreats all over the world, often in Peru India and Nepal. She is generous and kind and she is one of my favorite people I have ever known.
